My NCS Experience | 2016

Hi again,

I've just found this blog again and decided that I want to start using it again and will try to post once a month. This post was in my drafts from 2016 so I thought I'd start with this even though it is 2 years late!!

This summer I got the chance to do NCS, when I applied earlier this year little did I know that it would be one of the best experiences of my life so far! I went to the induction day not knowing anybody and for me that was petrifying as I am the least confident person. By the end of the induction day I had got to know my team that I would spend 4 weeks with but I still wasn't confident.

Just for a bit of insight, NCS is a voluntary personal and social development scheme for teens aged 15-17 in England and Northern Island that is largely funded by the UK Government.

Okay, so at this point, I showed up on 11th July, having forgotten everyone's names already but vaguely remembering faces, ready for the first week and not entirely knowing what to expect. That all changed. By the end of the first day, we were already close and bound to get closer over the next 4 weeks. The first week involved outdoor pursuit activities that pushed some of us harder than others, for example, the Leap Of Faith, High Equilibrium and the 3G Swing. However, everybody in Team 2 managed to complete EVERY activity and there were no regrets!

By the second week, we were all so close and the teams had even mixed so we got to meet even more new people which made the experience 10x better. The second week involved lectures at a local university, including getting our First Aid certificates. The lectures were interesting however the best part about week 2 was the spare time, including many rounders matches, a small gig and a fancy dress disco, in which my group went with a Grease theme. Nobody wanted to go home after this week as that meant it was getting closer to the end.

The last two weeks were the most rewarding. We spent a week trying to decide how to raise money for our chosen charity, The Joshua Tree, and a week trying to raise the money. Whether it be a car wash or a cake sale or dressing up as a giraffe (it happened). In the end we managed to raise a total of £1,560 in just over a week and it felt amazing.

If you ever get the opportunity to take part in NCS, it is one that I would not let slip away as it did change me and helped me gain more confidence than I ever thought I could have (although Ive still got a long way to go).

A Safari In The Serengeti | Africa 2014

Hujambo,

This post has been a long time coming, in the summer of 2014 my family and I went to Africa for 2 weeks (a week on safari and a week in a hotel) and I just wanted to share some of the photos that I took during the trip. This was probably one of the best or THE best experience of my life as I love animals and I love photography and we got so close to the animals which was pretty amazing!

This is the view we had from the pool at the hotel!

I have so many more photos which I might add to this post later on but this is it for now.

A Day In Llandudno | February 2015

Helo,

During the February half term I went to Wales. For me, this was nothing new as I go to Wales (Anglesey) lots and it is one of my favourite places. However, I went to the beach and to Llandudno pier and it seems like its been forever since I last did this.

When I went to the beach I didn't take my phone as I knew that if I did I would just use it the whole time and use up all my 3G. But I did take my camera and my iPod (doesn't have text or WiFi so wouldn't distract me). This was a decision that I certainly didn't regret and will try it more often.

On the way home we stopped off at Llandudno pier and my brother and I stayed in the arcade for ages. We then found a super cute puppy and bought doughnuts. The weather whilst we were there was amazing!

Here are some photos, they were taken on my phone as my camera died:

Love, Tanya!

Ohio,

On Wednesday 18th February I got the opportunity to meet the amazing Tanya Burr at her book signing with 6 of my friends! It was probably the best day of this year so far!

We got the hour long train from Northwich to Manchester Piccadilly and then had to walk for 20-30 minutes to get to the venue. But, it was definitely worth it. I'm not sure how long we queued for but it went a lot quicker than I thought it would. We also met two really nice girls in front of us and talked to them for a while.

Although it was very rushed, when we finally met Tanya she was so lovely. She signed the books, smiled and said something a long the lines of, 'Thank you so much for coming, it means a lot, I love you'. It was great! As I was picking my books up, I managed to get a quick selfie (below) before the management asked me to go.

After meeting her, my friends and I all walked back to the Arndale to have Nandos and shop (more looking than shopping though). I bought Tanya Burr's 'First Date' lip gloss and 'Mini Marshmallows' nail polish. I don't usually wear pink but I really liked these!

We then decided to go home but just missed a train, so we had to wait for 40 mins-1 hour for the next one (and so I tried to take selfies with people walking past but failed). When I finally got home I watched the Comic Relief Bake Off to see Zoe Sugg.

Thank you for reading, see you soon

HELLO!

Ohio,

If you know me, you might know that this is how I sometimes say hi (because o'hi'o). Anyways, I'm Becky. This happens to be my second blog because I created one sometime in September last year. However, I haven't posted on it for a couple of months as I never knew what to write about.
So, I decided to make this one. I am currently taking Photography as one of my GCSE's and I love taking photos. I also love travelling (but hate planes) so I decided to make this more of a photography and travelling blog!
Here are a few things about me: I'm 15, I live in England, I take lots of photos and I am a massive fangirl!
La vida means 'the life' in Spanish so my blog address basically means 'capturing the life' which is what I am planning on doing.
I planned on making my other blog more like this one but it didn't turn out how I wanted it. Therefore, this blog is here, I might still use my old one but this will be my main one.
Hopefully this made sense, thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon!

Dubai (I say this a lot too because it sounds like bye)
